January First (second) Friday 2010

Hey all !
Well, I don't know about you all but we're all looking forward to 2010 around here. We'd sure like to thank all of you who helped create the good memories from 2009 and all our commercial photography clients who continued support allows us to support the arts in KC. We're not open for this month's First (or second) Friday at KRZYZ but we definitely want to wish all of you and your a great happy and safe new year! We plan to be open for the coming First Fridays, and we might shake things up a bit… stay tuned.

Krzyz is at 1800 Locust, one block east of Oak in the heart of the east crossroads.


Pi will be exhibiting "Retro", abstact paintings and drawings by Richard Van Cleave will be on exhibit at Pi January 8-30, 2010.  There will be an opening reception on second Friday, Jan. 8, 6-9pm. Van Cleave has been experimenting with process and design for over 30 years.  His first art exhibit was a complex installation at The Writer's Place in 1997.  He has also done art intstallations at Aha! Dance Theater and the Lawrence Art Center. Years of set design include work for new EAR, Eric Satie and Gorilla Theater. His work is included in a current exhibit of Kemmper Museum Employees. Pi is open Sat. 8am-4pm, Sun. 8am-2pm and by appt. Pi is at 419 E 18th. www.piartgallery.com

The Hilliard Gallery will be closed but gearing up for 2010. Remember, they can skillfully frame that new piece of art your thoughtful family/friend got you for Christmas…   Regular gallery hours; Tuesday-Friday 10-5 Saturday 11-4. The Hilliard Gallery is at 404 E. 18th . www.hilliardgallery.com
